David A. Schlessinger, M.D. is Board Certified by the American Academy of Ophthalmology. Dr. Schlessinger received his Medical Degree from the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine in 1988. He completed his Fellowship training at the University of Minnesota in Eyelid Plastic Surgery and Neuro-Ophthalmology. In addition to being the Director of his private practice, Dr. Schlessinger teaches Eyelid Plastic Surgery to Ophthalmology Residents on Long Island & New York City. Dr. Schlessinger has been awarded the prestigious "Outstanding Clinician of the Year" award.

Dr. Schlessinger is the Director of Occuloplastic Surgery at Nassau University Medical Center. In addition to teaching the residents, he is called upon to see the most challenging and difficult eyelid surgery cases. He performs reconstructive surgery for both trauma & cancer cases. Prior to that Dr. Schlessinger was the Medical Director of Ophthalmic Plastic Surgery at Brooklyn Jewish Hospital.
