David A. Schlessinger, M.D.

Dr_Schlessinger_256x256David A. Schlessinger, M.D., F.A.A.C.S. is the Medical Director at Schlessinger Eye & Face. He is board certified by the American Academy of Ophthalmology and received his Medical Degree from the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine in 1988. Dr. Schlessinger completed his Fellowship training at the University of Minnesota in Eyelid Plastic Surgery and Neuro-Ophthalmology in 1992. A Fellow of the Academy of Cosmetic Surgery, Dr. Schlessinger is a renowned surgeon in his field, and listed among New York’s Top 100 Physicians for Oculoplastic Surgery in Castle Connelly’s prestigious “America’s Top Cosmetic Doctors” for several consecutive years and most recently named a “NY Super Doctor 2015”. As an Ophthalmic Plastic Surgeon, Dr. Schlessinger is uniquely qualified to treat the delicate skin of the eyelid and face. Numerous respected local physicians entrust the care of their own patients to Dr. Schlessinger and also refer their family members and friends. Many of these same physicians count themselves among Dr. Schlessinger’s patients as well. Frequently called upon to see the most difficult and challenging eyelid surgery cases, he performs reconstructive surgery for both trauma and Cancer patients and lectures extensively to other professionals in the area. Dr. Schlessinger specializes in a variety of facial cosmetic procedures including Blepharoplasty, Eyelid Reconstruction, Browlifts and mid-Facelifts. Non-surgical facial rejuvenation options include Botox, Restylane, Radiesse, Juvaderm and other  therapies. He also offers Ultherapy Ultrasound, IPL Laser Treatments, Chemical Peels and the latest in facial rejuvenation products and services.

Brett Kotlus, M.D.

kotlus 150px webDr. Brett Kotlus is one of a few physicians in the United States that are Board Certified in Cosmetic Surgery and fell owship-trained and Certified in Oculofacial Plastic Surgery.  He has performed thousands of cosmetic procedures and more than 1,000 cosmetic eyelid procedures.

Dr. Kotlus received a Master’s degree in Genetics from the Pennsylvania State University and his medical degree from the Sackler School of Medicine at Tel Aviv University.  After completing his residency at the North Shore-Long Island Jewish Health System of the Albert Einstein College of Medicine, he completed two accredited fellowships in Oculofacial Plastic Surgery and General Cosmetic Surgery in Tucson, Arizona. He subsequently served as Assistant Clinical Professor at the University of Arizona.  Before joining Schlessinger Eye & Face in 2014, Dr. Kotlus provided surgical and non-surgical aesthetic services for 7 years in one of the country’s most successful cosmetic surgery offices.

Dr. Kotlus is the recipient of the Robert F. Jackson Award from the American Board of Cosmetic Surgery for achieving the highest score on the board examination and serves on the Board of Trustees for the American Academy of Cosmetic Surgery. He also received the Achievement Award from the American Academy of Ophthalmology and two research grants from the Cosmetic Surgery Foundation.  He developed his own eyelid surgery instruments with 3D printers and has a patent pending for his methods of designing custom aesthetic facial implants.

Dr. Kotlus is active in charitable causes and has performed medical mission work in Mongolia with Health for Humanity.
