Browlift
Browlifts can revitalize drooping or lined foreheads, helping you to look less angry, sad or tired. Using either traditional or minimally invasive (endoscopic) methods, the muscles above the eyes are altered to smooth lines and raise the eyebrows for a more youthful appearance. The procedure is often combined with other operations such as blepharoplasty and facelifts to improve the look of the eyes and other areas of the face.
Dr. Schlessinger offers a non-surgical brow lift, using BOTOX®, to create an eyebrow arch that diminishes forehead lines, while preserving natural expression. Known as the “Schlessinger Arch,” it has become one of our most requested lunch-time procedures.

A facelift can be an effective way to improve appearance and boost self-confidence, but it is not for everyone. For this reason a cosmetic consultation (always complimentary at Schlessinger Eye & Face) with Dr. Schlessinger is necessary. Patients whose skin is still relatively supple, and who are in good overall health, achieve the best results. If Dr. Schlessinger feels you are not a good candidate for surgery, he can prescribe a rejuvenation plan utilizing our non-surgical options (i.e. Fraxel, laser rejuvenation, injectables, fillers).
Facelift surgery can be combined with other procedures, including surgical [neck lift, browlift] and non-surgical [laser rejuvenation, injectables, fillers] options. Patients who understand both the possibilities of a facelift and its limitations tend to be more pleased with their results.
Blepharoplasty is a surgical procedure that can rejuvenate puffy, sagging or tired-looking eyes by removing excess fat, skin and muscle from the upper and lower eyelids. It may be performed for cosmetic reasons or to improve sight by lifting droopy eyelids out of the patient's field of vision. In some cases this procedure may be covered by insurance. Typically blepharoplasty is performed in our state of the art office with local anesthesia in as little as 45 minutes. Blepharoplasty can be combined with a facelift or BOTOX® treatments to raise the eyebrows or reduce the appearance of wrinkles, crow's feet or dark circles under the eyes.

Fraxel® is the latest technology available for laser skin resurfacing. Treatment improves skin tone, smoothes wrinkles and gives your skin a youthful appearance. The laser creates tiny holes in the skin, stimulating the growth of new, healthy skin cells. Three to six sessions are recommended for full effect. There is little to no discomfort and almost no downtime.
There may be some skin flaking after a session, but this resolves within a few days. Results can be seen a few days after the procedure, and your skin will continue to improve over the next few months.
Chemical peels remove damaged outer layers of skin on the face to smooth texture, reduce scarring, and remove blemishes and pre-cancerous growths to produce healthy, glowing skin. Peel formulas and strengths are tailored to each patient. Peels can be combined with other procedures such as facelifts for a younger look. They may be covered by insurance if they are performed for medical rather than cosmetic reasons. This is determined on a case-by-case basis.

Intense Pulsed Light (IPL) facial rejuvenation can correct or erase the signs aging. The IPL machine treats sun damage, brown spots, freckles, broken blood vessels, enlarged pores, rosacea and uneven skin tone on the face, hands and body. Full, natural-looking eyelashes can now be achieved through a prescription treatment called Latisse™. Latisse is the first and only eyelash treatment approved by the FDA to help grow longer, fuller and darker eyelashes and treat hypotrichosis, a condition that includes having inadequate or not enough eyelashes.
Latisse contains bimatoprost, an active ingredient that improves the appearance of your lashes and is often found in glaucoma medication. While the precise science of the treatment is not known, research suggests that the number of hairs and duration of the growth process are increased by bimatoprost.
This prescription medication is applied topically to the base of the eyelashes once a day, after makeup and contact lenses have been removed and any other skincare products have already been applied. While it does not replace mascara, Latisse offers an attractive complement to help further enhance full, long and beautiful lashes.
A mid-facelift restores youthful vitality to the mid-face, lifting the cheeks and smoothing smile lines to achieve a natural rejuvenated look without the need to undergo a full facelift. Incisions are small and hidden in the eyelids or in the mouth. We are happy offer our patients and their companions a host of services in a comfortable, tranquil and relaxing spa-like atmosphere, housed right in our medical office. Initially conceived of to provide pre and post operative regimens to our surgical patients, we have since expanded hours due to high demand. Now, our patients schedule their appointments independently and look forward to dropping in for a facial or makeup application.
