How VI Peels Give You Gorgeous, Youthful Skin

Some of the signs of aging can be covered up with makeup, but not all. Brown spots, gritty texture, and uneven skin tone can be quite difficult to hide, even with the best foundation.

If you’re searching for an effective and lasting solution, VI peels may be right for you! A VI peel can provide excellent results, is virtually painless, and has minimal downtime.

Keep reading to learn how VI peels can give you gorgeous, youthful skin!

What is a VI Peel?

A VI peel is a medium-depth chemical peel that improves the clarity, tone, and texture of the skin.

This medical-grade cosmetic procedure utilizes a product trademarked by Vitality Institute, specially formulated with Ascorbic Acid (vitamin C), Trichloroacetic acid (TCA), Salicylic Acid, Phenol, and Retinoic acid (Retin-A). This unique combination helps resurface and reveal brighter, clearer, more youthful skin!

These powerful ingredients work together to address a range of skin concerns, including:

  • Wrinkles
  • Fine lines
  • Acne and acne scars
  • Laugh lines
  • Saggy skin
  • Age spots
  • Blemishes
  • Uneven skin tone
  • Enlarged pores
  • Rough skin texture
  • Sun damage
  • Hyperpigmentation

VI peel is one of the safest, most effective chemical peels and can be used on the face and even around the eyes. It can also be used on the hands, chest, back, and legs.

VI peel is suitable for all skin tones and all skin types. The peel isn’t recommended for pregnant and nursing women.

How Does a VI Peel Work?

VI peel works by purging the top layer of the skin or epidermis.

The peel then penetrates down to the dermis below to promote cellular turnover and stimulate new collagen. The procedure might vary slightly depending on which VI peel you and your provider choose to address your individual concerns.

Typically, the treatment begins with thoroughly cleansing the skin to eliminate dirt and oil. Cleansing is then followed by the application of the VI peel solution in two phases.

The first phase reaches the cells on the skin’s surface. There could be some mild tingling or numbness during this phase, which subsides quickly.

The second phase penetrates deeper into the dermis to get rid of dead skin cells and toxins. After the second phase, the skin turns white or frosts.

This whole process takes approximately thirty minutes to complete. After you leave the office, the solution stays on for approximately four to six hours before washing it off with water and a mild cleanser.

The results of a VI peel are impressive. Patients can expect radiant, younger-looking skin in just seven days.

Preparation for a VI Peel

In the days leading up to the peel, don’t tan, and ensure zero sun exposure. Be sure to apply sunscreen before stepping outside, even on rainy days.

One week prior to the peel, discontinue products containing alpha hydroxy acids and prescription retinoids. You should also avoid depilatory creams, laser hair removal, waxing, and electrolysis.

VI Peel Aftercare

Immediately following the application of the peel, your skin may look red, yellow, or tan in color. This change in color is caused by the retinoic acid and is completely normal. Color changes typically resolve in a few days, once the peeling process is complete.

Mild to moderate swelling may also be present. Be gentle when washing and drying your face so as not to cause irritation to the skin.

Peeling usually starts around day three after the peel and lasts approximately five to seven days. Wear sunscreen daily and avoid sunlight while the skin is shedding. Apply post-peel protectant two to four times daily.

Don’t pick, pull, scrub, or tug on the peeling skin, as this can lead to irritation, redness, hyperpigmentation, and scarring. With the help of a moisturizer (one that is provided for you or approved by your aesthetic provider), most patients can go about their daily routine even while their skin is peeling.

Many improvements are visible after peeling resolves and full results are achieved in four to six weeks. At this point the skin will look more even-toned, firmer, soft, supple, and with a radiant, youthful glow.

How Long Will the Results Last?

VI Peels are often recommended in a series of 3 or more, however, great results can still be achieved with 1 peel.

The results of a single VI peel generally last about three to four months or longer, depending on the individual and their commitment to maintaining their results. Speak with your aesthetic provider about what you can do to maximize your investment and receive the very best outcome.
