What is FaceTite?

FaceTite™ is a a non-invasive device that targets and reduces fat and tightens the skin of the face, neck and jowls without surgery. It can yield transformative results with just one in-office treatment and is an excellent alternative to surgery for many appropriate candidates.

FaceTite is performed under local anesthesia and patients can return to normal activity within a few days. Zero to minimal bruising after procedure. Swelling for a few days. A face garment is required during the recovery period

Who is a Good Candidate for FaceTite?

Patients who have loose or sagging skin on their face and neck are the ideal candidates for a FaceTite treatment, which is safe for all skin types. This procedure works well for anyone who is experiencing signs of aging but does not wish to commit to the expense or extended recovery that comes along with a traditional facelift.

How Does FaceTite® Work?

Insertion of a cannula in areas of relaxed skin or with small fat deposits (such as the double chin or the jawline and jowls) allows Dr. Schlessinger to breakdown and break up fat using heat and simultaneous thermal skin retraction. The precise control of  this technology allows the surgeon to target on a micro level. This advanced technology improves operating duration and the carefully calibrated  temperature results in a safe and highly effective patient experience.

Heat is distributed evenly over the entire treatment area and the thermal coagulation of blood vessels guarantees the patient can return to normal life faster than with other procedures such as the traditional facelift

What To Expect During FaceTite® Treatment

The technique consists of a treatment under local anaesthesia lasting 45 minutes with only three small pinholes, each 2 mm. This provides for the entry of thin cannula that is precisely applied allowing the tissue to return to their original shape.

What Is Recovery Like After FaceTite®?

A return to normal life is a matter of a long weekend. The treatment, as mentioned previously, is performed under local anaesthesia and the patient returns home after a couple of hours, without the need for hospitalization. In the following few days, patients are provided with a facial compression covering to reduce swelling and your recovery time.

Initial results can be seen as the healing process begins (1-3 weeks) with as the months pass, Optimal result is achieved in about 3-6 months.

Most of the cases are performed under local anesthesia. Patients generally receive an oral sedative to relax them. Local anesthesia is then administered and is extremely well tolerated. After that, there is no pain during or after the procedure.

Once the area is anesthetized, 3 tiny incisions are made with a needle. A thin handpiece is then placed through the small needle hole and the device is then gently glided back and forth over the area being treated. The entire procedure generally takes about an hour. At the end of the procedure, you will have a bandage placed around your face for support and you can then go home.

Yes! Many of our patients have FaceTite in combination with other surgical or non-surgical procedures. It is very common to combine FaceTite with liposuction of the submental area (chin), Blepharoplasty (cosmetic eyelid surgery), laser resurfacing or Morpheus (RF Microneedling) for a more complete rejuvenation. Dermal fillers and thread lifts are sometimes performed at the same time as well.

The most common treated areas are the jawline (Jowls) and chin and neck. Eye brows are also effectively lifted. Nasolabial folds and marionette lines can also be treated.

People with significant laxity, very heavy necks and jowls would do better with a true surgical facelift.

Certain medical conditions would exclude a person from having the treatment. FaceTite uses radiofrequency technology which can interfere with cardiac pacemakers and defibrillators, so these people should avoid this treatment. You also must be able to stop blood thinners for a short period of time.

After surgery, you will be required to wear a compression garment around the treated area for 48 hours. After that, you will be given a lighter dressing to wear for about a week and only at night. You will be allowed to resume all activities 3 days after the procedure. Most people will feel comfortable being seen in social settings at that time.

The results of FaceTite depend on the body’s ability to produce new collagen. Early results are seen at about three months but it can take a full year to see the final results.

In general, a healthy lifestyle with good nutrition is very helpful to see best results. We recommend supplementing Vitamin C and oral collagen powder to help the body produce collagen. In addition, we place our patients on collagen and elastin producing topical serum. Tobacco use, excessive alcohol intake and sun exposure all breakdown collagen and will not allow for the best results.
